Designed and implemented MultiTower automated storage system with the use of stacker crane allows for storing large amount of metal sheets with dimensions of 4000 x 2000 mm. The storage system consists of 4 storage columns for storing materials on movable shelves and is integrated with the loading-unloading system of the laser cutting machine. MultiTower contains two stations – the first, moving along the track, where delivery of new sheet packs and collection of cut parts is carried out, and the second, delivering and collecting sheets from the loading-unloading system of the laser. This solution, in addition to space saving in the production warehause, allows easy and quick access to metal sheets and cuted parts, which can also be stored on the shelves of the storage system. The system consists of a support structure nearly 8 meters high, inside of which the stacker crane moves. The system is equipped with 52 shelves with a load capacity of 5000 kg. The automated storage system is also equipped with Baumalog software, which provides the necessary database and the ability to carry out the loading, transport and unloading operations, as well as full diagnostics and manual movements of all drives. To reduce working time the stacker crane moves the shelves simultaneously in two directions – vertical and horizontal.
