Storage of pipes and profiles – stacker crane provides warehouse stocks under control

As a result of the work, a 119 000 kg unit was created with the possibility of storing several hundred assortments of stainless steel pipes and profiles. The 8-meter high automated warehouse consists of a load-bearing structure with two rows of racks with 4 columns, 68 movable trays with dimensions of 6200 mm x 450 mm x 600mm and a load capacity of 1750 kg each.

The loading of goods into the warehouse takes place outside using a forklift – it is posibble thanks to a mobile station leaving the hall through an automatic door  (so it can be managed without transporting packages of pipes and profiles inside the hall). Transport of materials to two laser cutters for pipes takes place in automatic mode inside the hall. Thus, the time needed to load the laser has dropped below 2 minutes.

The IT system allows for full control of inventory, minimum statuses, location management, order fulfillment (completion, picking, returns, loading), management and differentiation of operators based on the use of logins and passwords and includes a comprehensive service and diagnostic module providing full control over the technical side of the warehouse enabling you to work without downtimes or malfunctions.

The entire project in Retech company included the expansion of the hall, the installation of an automated MultiTower warehouse with a stacker crane, as well as the delivery of a laser cutter for profiles.
